Application Guidelines
Who Can apply for funding from the Trust?
Please be aware that the objective of CORT is to offer financial support to local residents of the Central Otago region who are suffering financial hardship as a result of a medical condition, illness or disease.
Before submitting your application you will be asked the following questions to help us verify your need for support.
- Please confirm the money you have applied for is critical to being able to maintain minimal financial security for you or your immediate family.
- Please confirm that if this money was not available to you or your immediate family, you would have no other reasonable means available to you to have the treatment as per this application
- Please confirm that without this grant from CORT you would suffer financial hardship
The Trust will not approve payments for travel, accommodation and food expenses directly related to an accident. It will consider support where a friend or family member is required to give support to someone in an out of region medical facility as a result of an accident.
The Trust is unable to provide funding travel, accommodation and food expenses related to elective surgeries. However the Trust will consider applications where elective surgery is related to an overriding health condition which was previously treated and the Trust would have supported such an application at that time.
The Trust would not accept an application for cosmetic surgery or treatments.
Please be aware the Trust has an annual limit of support of $1,500 per person per year.
